Hello and welcome to a newly added feature
to the Articles column of GTW, and possibly a rather special one at
that too...Recently in 2005, James Grayson contacted GTW and informed us that he some years back bought a box full of Alligata labelled floppies at a bootfair in Sheffield. A quick photo of some of the disks showed that there was possibly about 5 GTW's there waiting to be archived. James kindly loaned GTW all of the disks to try and archive what it could in the hope of finding more GTW titles. Disks were sadly in such poor condition from their previous owner, that they would not read properly and required a week's worth of careful cleaning and restoration to get reading again.. almost buggering up a 1541 in the process :)
GTW has managed to preserve a good section of the disks, but sadly many were too damaged to be saved. Found were mostly master disks, but we did find one or two bits of interest, including an unreleased game called Circus Fun and a graphic demo which seems to have been submitted to get interest from Alligata for possible work (Dystopia).
Scans can also be found, including of disks which would sadly not read any more, but the main part is of the archive of disk images which you can download for yourself to have a look at. This includes mainly master copies of some of Alligata's back catelogue, and also possibly some source code (For Kettle). Some disks contain unknown files, so maybe you might find something interesting that we've missed?.... There could well be hidden extras here, but a lack of coding knowledge prevents myself from finding out too much. If you find out anything, please let us know and we'll update these pages.
We hope you find something interesting here, it's thanks to James Grayson that all of this was possible! Check out the downloads section within the links at the top right of this page.
