  'PART TWO - UNRELEASED CRAP...'

For years i've had disks full of work half finished/unreleased work. But recently I ported all my disks to back up on CD to preserve. Although a lot of my Work disk stuff is junk, there are a few bits which are playable and funny to look at, even a lot of embarrassing stuff with spelling errors, crude concepts and abysmal programming. But just for the hell of it, i'm putting all my work stuff on this page... mainly to be poked fun at and hopefully get regular review slots in GAME OVER magazine :) If you feel its pointless, then please check out the other page which contains my more reasonable (?) later stuff. In some way, I hope that having this stuff here will immortalize it, so if I did lose everything, I could find it on the net. Maybe Jetman will still be played in 2057 .. who knows! :)

PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME FILES MAY REQUIRE A "FASTLOADER" TO RUN, OR VICE TO RUN SNAPSHOTS

SENSATION (NEW)

 1996-1998 Incomplete

One of the final SEUCK's being worked on by Cyber Systems around the same time Synetic was being completed. This was to be a huge SEU based around combinations of classics such as Lightforce, Slap Fight and Dominator. The name "Sensation" was conceived by Vinny Mainolfi, and the game was in good progress with some promising ideas to make a half decent SEUCK effort with some extra Hi-res effects. Motivation with this project was lost as Synetic grew, and a few ideas from Sensation's backdrops were borrowed for Synetic.

Maybe someday in the future I will come back to this project, but away from SEUCK. I'm certainly keen to do another SEU in the future. This includes several versions I was doing with different backdrops and a music included demo. You will need Vice to run some files.

SNOT AND CRAP (NEW)

 1996-1997 Incomplete

Desperate to do a cutesy game in SEUCK, Snot and Crap was to be a mixture of Cute Land and Scob Bros, featuring plenty of toilet humour with two main characters made out of Snot and Crap, which shot just that. Kind of similar to Kindergarten Kids and Cleo The Dog, this is your typical ladder/platform SEUCK effort. Graphically the game was taking shape well, and it was fun to make... but I didn't really have too many ideas and the game fell by the wayside. No point completing this one, as its a SEUCK. You will need Vice to run some files.

KICK BUTT! (NEW)

 1996-1997 Incomplete

Following on from Armageddon Files, I wanted to do another Cannon Fodder style game with the small characters, and came up with a comical attempt called Kick Butt! (Working name, Jungle Troopers). Loading screen was created, and various other bits including some demo files of the game running. Was looking ok, and with a bit more work I probably would have got into the game more and completed it. I lost ideas and interest with this one... You will need Vice to run some files.

THE WAR (NEW)

 1996-1997 Incomplete

Very nearly complete this one. Just never got round to finishing it, and it was very hard to come up with any original ideas from it. Borrows slightly from Cops with a few ideas, but its not too bad. Graphics are quite sparse in places, and you can't really see the bullets for some enemies. A bit unfair too where enemies appear. Could easily be finished off, but lack of interest in SEUCK titles prevents this ever being completed. A demo of the game with music is included. You will need Vice to run some files.

CHASE '96 (NEW)

 1996 Incomplete

Yet another Spy Hunter clone in the making, taking much more shape than the previous two games I was doing. Some nice sprites coming together, including more convincing looking car sprites. Briefly the game swaps to a speedboat section, and the intention was to have the game swap frequently between the two types, like with Spy Hunter. Would have required some coding magic by Jon Wells. Lost interest very early on, and never looked back. You will need Vice to run some files.

CUTELAND V2 (NEW)

 1993 80% Complete

Wow!... after 12 years being lost, its finally been found!... The much advanced version of the Reuters World rip off, salvaged from a tape recently. Only 50% of the file saved to the tape, but thanks to Jazzcat and Ian Coog, they managed to get an executable out of it. Badly damaged and missing crucial bits, there was enough there to indicate what was originally there. And with a bit of swapping of char blocks and the sprites from the existing version, my baby was back!... A great deal more was unsavable.... so later in the game you will see some strange blocks and pieces... last remains of what was very much a complete game... But having a much more complete version has been worth it!.. Some reconstruction here from memory of the old game.

MY WORLD (NEW)

 1995 Incomplete

Yet another wow... Previously lost, but a rogue file on a disk was checked out recently by chance in GAC, hoping an old adventure would appear. Never would I have bet my first ever (and only) unfinished adventure game popping up!. Based in my house and around the area I grew up, there was no real plot. Sadly a far greater complete version was never found, but this is some remains of it.. which is better than nothing. I stopped work on this when I run out of GAC memory.... too many graphics! Very sentimental creation, and I may soon recreate some of the rooms lost, from memory (As I can just about picture them) and link the rooms properly together. Missing rooms afaik - "Living room with my late uncle, Kitchen, Back Garden, Tree bases, Front Garden".

MY HOUSE (NEW)

 1996 Incomplete

After purchasing 3DCK, I attempted a 3D world version of the above. Managed to get a fair representation of my house, and another house too. Nothing playable, just you will be able to walk around the house and that's it. Can't remember if there is any more than this.

It was very boring to make, and way too slow... so it was ditched early on.

A.I.D.Y 1 (NEW)

 1995 Demo Collection

"Am I Dead Yet? (AIDY)" - Awww gawd!.... like your parents digging out pictures of you when you were a baby... this is real pain. As I grabbed onto some demo creators, I began unleashing a load of crappy demos, pretending I had some kind of demo group and was laying claim to music and graphics... that kind of lame stuff. I was 13 at the time, so maybe it can be excused?.... Lots of poor spellings, laughable scrollies and bad language.... Not proud of this at all!

A.I.D.Y 2 (NEW)

 1995 Demo Collection

Still in the demo mood, I got producing a sequel along with a friend from school. Soon it got boring, and the scrollies turned to slagging each other off. Childish, but slightly amusing..... Poor spelling and language again.... Again I was 13.....

One of the parts was to be a colour demo, with mixing techniques. It was never properly finished, though looking through it (Done in SEUCK), I noticed there were bits not used... So I have quickly tidied it up and linked it all together... so the demo is kind of finished....

QB PIC DISK (NEW)

 1996 Incomplete

Nothing particularly special here.... Just my intro screen work disk. I will be uploading all my QB work disks in the future with all the bits of code and things.

ZARIAROS (NEW)

 1996-2004 Complete

Stuck between the SEUCK era of SGA and Synetic was Zariarios back in 1996, which was looking ok.. but I just ran out of ideas, so it rotted away on a work disk. Recently TND have obtained it off me, enhanced it and finished it off. Much more than I would have done with it. I did plan to merge the ideas with Sensation, but just forgot about it really.

THING (NEW)

 1993 Demo

I was a big fan of Thing, and set about creating my own game (In SEUCK again...)... Thing this time had a machine gun and would go on a rampage to try and save other fellow Thing beings. Got into the game a lot, and had a few ideas... but lost interest towards the end. I suppose game could have easily been finished, but it wasn't that great anyway. Just a bit of nostalgia.

TAPEWORM (NEW)

 1995 Complete

A joke rip-off of a Silkworm, done in SEUCK again.... done as part of the "Am I Dead Yet?" demo set I did in 1995. The game took a day to create, and it shows.... very poor effort and not playable at all. I think this was done at the time I saw Silverfish, hence the inspiration. Avoid, or try if you are curious :-)

OP LEMMINGS (NEW)

 1995 Complete

Game I did for fun back in 1995, after hearing about an amusing PD game on the Amiga called Operation Lemmings and after seeing various screenshots for Lemmings on the C64 at the time, I did my own version and recreated some of the look of the original Lemmings levels. I also got some fair sprites together, and had it that you had to shoot a certain amount to get an extra life to progress to the next level. The main problem with this creation was the accuracy of the gun aimer, which didn't work too well. Had it worked, might have been ok... but the game was not much of a challenge at all. The plan was to have a password at the end of the game, and for there to be 4 separate files, FUN, TRICKY, HARD, MAYHEM etc. I got bored after the first game! :-)

GUNSHIP '94 (NEW)

 1994 Complete

In 1994 I was going and staying over my brothers house a lot, and I used to take my C64 over a lot. He was a big fan of helicopter and army games, and I didn't have a great deal of them, so I made one. Pretty much knocked out in 2 days, it wasn't too bad. I almost lost the game too, as the tape would not load the files after I did the final save... but at the last minute I managed to salvage the game and saved it properly several more times!.... More ideas were building in this game, and my graphics were slowly improving.

DAN DARE JR (NEW)

 1993 Demo

A fan of Dan Dare too... I set about creating a Junior incarnation of the character in a new game. After some ideas mainly consisting of samey background blocks, I lost interest in the game and soon buried it and forgot about it. The game has you controlling a dog as the second player.... hmm....

CANN' FODDER (NEW)

 1994 Complete

I was a huge fan of Cannon Fodder when it came out on the Amiga, so to pay homage to the game I did my own SEUCK effort with you controlling 3 characters at once. Very shit really, but I enjoyed making it and it contributed a lot towards creating Armageddon Files. Interesting NES V C64 battle going on too in it... and some graphic nudity... ;-)

ALIENATOR (NEW)

 1994 Complete

Again in 1994, and before Cybernator was born. Again looking at SEUCK screenshots in a magazine, I borrowed some graphics from Tau Omega from a screenshot which I think was in Zzap 64 (The issue where TMNT is mentioned as a SEUCK effort). I used similar ideas from Gunship 94 and got to work on the game, and knocked this quick effort out. Not bad, but graphics are poor and its not much different from any other shooters out there.

CYBERNATOR (NEW)

 1994 Complete

After much inspiration from the awesome SEUCK game called Sub Burner, I got to work on my own space SEU, originally entitled Axel Burner. It was when I put this out on the net that I changed the name. After mentioning the name to TMR and Tony Gibbs, I realized from the response to the name that i'd better change it quick!... So I nicked the name of the SNES game. It's a fairly bad Sub Burner rip off, but it was a good learning experience to take on before doing Xavier.

S.S.I (NEW)

 1993 Complete

Shit... probably sums up this game in one word. This is my 2nd ever game done in SEUCK, and an attempt at doing a Space Invaders clone (or clone of Super Space Invaders) in SEUCK, and it failed badly. The game starts right away with too much on the screen... and trying to incorporate other arcade games such as Centipede became a joke... I constructed the centipede with individual sprites as each part... aghhhhh...... Interesting screens made up for the backgrounds, including a truck and greetings to the animals... (!)

MY BITMAPS (NEW)

 1994-1998 Mixture

An interesting disk, and one with a fair few memories for myself. This contains a whole bundle of mostly unreleased pictures i've done over the 1994-1998 period. These are all in Koala format, and were to be put into a slideshow for this page, but things have been rather busy. I'd love to see these in a slideshow sometime soon. My best pieces of work are Q-Billion, TND logo and a Ninja picture (which is slightly misshapen). I didn't really do a heck of a lot of pixelling, and what I did do was mostly rushed and hashed together.

CRAP DISK (NEW)

 1993-1998 Mixture

Two disk images worth of shite, but again very sentimental stuff ranging from my first basic programs, various experiments (Some not too bad for BASIC) and unfinished games. Some bits are bugged and need a bit of fixing, some might take some examination to know what they are. It is kind of like a programmers blog, messing around and experimenting.. hopefully leading to some good with the likes of Q-Billion much later on...

JETMAN

 1993 Full Game

A diabolical SEUCK effort. Welcome to my first ever SEUCK game, written over the top of the preset game 'Outlaw'.

No design, no patterns and no gameplay. This was a big thing to me to have completed this at the time, and I even tagged my friends name on it, so we could say we did the game as a team. However, it is purely my own crap and will remain that way.

SUPER BLITZ 1996

 1996 Full Game

An early version of BLITZ which I released, featuring pretty much all the graphics, but minus the landing sequences. Kenz saw this and egged me on to finish it for the C-Zone coverdisk.

What makes this a little different is the use of Speech ripped from other games. I decided to scrap it as it was naff, and I eventually added music, new titles and new sequences for the release.

SGA 2 DEMO

 1996 Demo

While sending some bits off to Kenz, I made a progress demo of my SEUCK game I was working on at the time. I added music and bits just as a test and showed Kenz. He liked it and so I finished it (See other page).

Pretty much the same, but only a few scenes. Different music and intro text. Apologies for the incorrect music credits.

LIFE DEMO

 1996 Demo

"Cyber Systems Research Network" presents a representation of "LIFE"... Or a bunch of randomized characters which plot like mad all over the screen forever.

I guess I was always fascinated by the LIFE demo's, and didn't have a clue about AI or how to make a real simulation.. so I made one up. Looks nice though?... ok, maybe not.

CUTE LAND

 1993 Incomplete

Recognize the graphics?... Yes, its basically a replication of Alf Yngve's great Reuters World. This was actually copied from Commodore Force when they reviewed the Alf Yngve Compilation.

Never mean't for release, so not intentionally ripping off Alf, but merely learning from his stuff. Very early stages, main character and a bit of map. That is it. I did do a lot more, but sadly a dodgy tape lost it.

UNFINISHED RPG

 1994 Incomplete

Very early days in my BASIC programming with my afternoon moment of inspiration to make my own RPG. Without a clue about RPG's and without the coding ability.. this consisted of some ideas of the moment and some very poor implementation.

I basically got bored, saved it and never went back to it. Unplayable and a heap of junk.

ZOEY 4 FRANK V1

 1993 Game

Yes.. ok... Saddo me went ahead and produced a SEUCK game while I was with my ex at the age of 12. It was more an idea that I started and grew into its association it had. Now I was getting used to SEUCK a bit more, and I added a bit of my young humour into it.

Although its terrible, it holds a lot of nostalgia for me and I even still have the inlay I made for it at my parents house :) ... Yes ... sad....

ZOEY 4 FRANK V2

 1995 Game

Kenz taught me how to add my own music to games, and so I tarted up the above game and added some music, and enhanced a few sprites.

Basically the same game, but musically enhanced. A discredit to the music though sadly.

ZOEY 4 FRANK 2

 1994 Demo

After what I thought was a *success* in terms of making my own game, I started a sequel... basically the same thing as before with improvements and some new character ideas.

To reflect my new beginnings at secondary school, I even donned my school uniform colours... don't ask why... it is 11 years ago!... Unfinished as I lost interest and had no new ideas for it.

SUPER SNAKE AWAKE

 1995 Game

I used to buy an old magazine called "Lets Compute!", which catered for BBC, C64 and Spectrum. They once had a listing for a simple snake game called "Snake Awake". I typed it in and saved it, then once I was experimenting in BASIC and learning more, I dug it out and added my own titles and sfx enhancements. Before I actually started releasing games, I used to change the credits to my own. Obviously this was very lame, but I was only around 11/12 at the time. I soon luckily grew out of this :-) ... Not something I would have ever done on the scene, but only to show friends to say I did it... ;-)

A very simple game. The zip also includes the original game I typed.

ALIEN COMPLEX

 1996 Preview

What can I say... I liked Alien Breed on the Miggy, and so tried to do what Ryan Chenry succeeded in doing much better... a SEUCK Alien Breed clone. Basically less than a day's work, a dodgy main character and aliens which look like easter eggs. No playability.. just a few bits and pieces. I've taken the preview and patched it up, and drawn in some blocks which were not on the map previously.

AFILES INTRO'S

 1995 Intro

I had a few demo makers, mainly from Kenz and wanted to create a nice intro for my SEUCK effort. Sadly my drawing skills were crap, so I ditched the intro I made. Please excuse bad spellings and general crapness, but then you are on my Crap page!...

Second file is another intro, but a text writer based one... You know, where your text typing movements are recorded and played back.

ARNEY GAME

 1995 Preview

I loved Arnie on the C64, and I guess I wanted to make my own version. So I half borrowed the style of Arnie and started my own clone, but then got bored and realized I couldn't do half the graphics like in Arnie, so left it. One or two sprites and some familiar looking graphics, although they weren't ripped.. as if you didn't notice ;-)

Short, but not particularly sweet...

AXEL BURNER 2

 1994 Game

Ho Ho... A great name for a game eh?.... Axel Burner 2 is really the sequel to Cybernator I did, which originally was called Axel Burner. Now the original was a blatant rip off of Sub Burner, but Axel Burner 2 was more of my own, and really is what Xavier became in a way. A lot of elements are similar The main start sequence is heavily inspired by the launch sequence of Morpheus. For some reason, I like this. Dunno why I didn't put this out actually into BZPD... IMO, it was better than Xavier.

BALLZ V3

 1996 Preview

BASIC experiment time. This time I think I nabbed a Breakout clone from a VIC 20 book and tried converting it... and out came BALLZ.....

It is a bag of shite, and nothing is playable... but the ball bounces. Really it was just a phase I went through to try and learn more about programming. I quickly laid this to rest early.

BIKER '94

 1994 Preview

I remember seeing Psykozone in Commodore Format... Alf Yngve's currently unreleased SEUCK game. As I was waiting and looking forward to it, I started to do my own similar game... But with a lack of Alf's design flair and talent, I never got past the first hurdle and got bored of the game once I realized early on it was gonna be crap. Always seem to get a stretch of road, and then bang...

CAR WARZ

 1995 Preview

Another road based SEUCK..... Trying to do my own Spy Hunter styled game, with the two split screen approach as with Armageddon Files. Very early stages, and again I ran out of original ideas... and road I guess... ;-).... I went on to do something a little better, which I may tidy up and finish off soon... or it will end up here as per usual :)

I'M BACK

 1995 Preview

Trying to encourage my nephew to participate in making his own games... We started a game called "I'm Back"... a name chosen by him. He wanted a dinosaur game, and I drew everything (At the time he was too young to really draw much.... but then was I? :) ) Anyway... Got bored, and played games instead of making them... so one dinosaur followed by half a volcanoe was all that was done.

MISSION COBRA 2001

 1993 Game

A game done in a day... graphics are very very crap and it is basically a terrible game. But it was my third ever SEUCK creation, and totally forgotten about until recent years while going through my old cassettes. I used to swap a cassette with a C64 friend back in 1993 (Richard Baker), and we put our own programs on the tape and swapped every week. This was a game we both did, and the only copy saved was onto a tape for him to play.

SUPER SCOB BROS

 1993 Preview

Another game started with another friend (Justin)... Briefly had loads of gross ideas, which turned into a game which was based around two brothers who went around gobbing at people. The game also included the idea of people having sex in the bushes. Again... got bored of it, and never went back to the game. I did a similar game again a year later, which was quite good.. but sadly it got lost and didn't save properly on the tape. :(

SPACE DEFENCE

 1994 Preview

This was what Cybernator/Axel Burner was originally looking like in its early pre-Sub Burner rip off days.

Repetitive backgrounds, some early sprites and some elements which were later nicked.

VALENTINES DAY

 1996 Preview

One of my later bits of work, where graphics were slowly getting better. Featuring some toilet humour and some nice'ish sprites.

Nothing really done apart from a few background blocks... which i've bolted together for this preview and made a mini level. May even add more in the future, or nick most of it for Snot and Crap.

XAVIER EARLY PRV

 1994 Preview

An early look at Xavier... not as early as I had hoped, as I did have a version much earlier... but sadly the disk got corrupted.

Main ship doesn't animate and bullets are shiter than in the actual game... there are minor differences but not much.

XAVIER INTRO

 1995 Intro

As with Armageddon Files... I tried an intro in a demo maker, but sadly my drawing skills were still progressing and so I ditched the idea... and did an intro in SEUCK itself.

Not missing much here...

More coming soon!... it will get worse...
